Kvitfjell Park Challenge – the start of a new era in jibbing, culture & competition

What a weekend.
What a crew.
What a milestone.

Coming from alpine racing, I’ve been deeply inspired by how welcoming, inclusive, and playful the jibbing community is – both ski and snowboard. It’s not better, just different – but it unlocks a kind of creativity and connection that I’ve really come to appreciate.

Last weekend, we brought together over 100 of Norway’s most dedicated freeskiers and snowboarders for the Kvitfjell Park Challenge – a brand new kind of event, created by Chall, in collaboration with Jibben Lever and Kvitfjell Resort (Alpinco).

Four days filled with style, creativity, competition, community – and real rewards. This wasn’t just about tricks or rotations, but about who you are, how you contribute, and the energy you bring to others. And it worked.

Digital + physical = real engagement

We tested a brand-new concept: a hybrid format combining on-site sessions and digital challenges. Through the Chall platform, riders could submit entries to contests like:

In addition, we ran jam sessions (Rail and Style Air), a scratch battle, and fun evening programs with film screenings (from the digital entries on Chall), prize ceremonies, and great vibes all around. The crowd? They were free to move around the arena, close to the action – and they loved it.

Culture, for real

What struck us the most?
This event became a real arena for intergenerational connection in the scene. Young up-and-comers, legends, creative freethinkers, and competitive minds – everyone lifted each other up. It wasn’t just an event – it was community-building in action.

As Bendik Øye from Jibben Lever beautifully wrote in his LinkedIn post:

“A dream weekend, a milestone for Norwegian freeskiing, participation and engagement.”

“The fact that Chall, with Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen in the lead, is investing so strongly in freeskiing as a platform to build its brand – that means a lot to the whole community.”

Thank you for those words, Bendik – and for being a driving force, co-organizer, and a true culture-builder all the way through.

At Chall, that’s what we stand for. We’re a tool for the playful, the creative, the ones who love to challenge themselves and each other. Because through play and challenge – structured or unstructured – we grow as athletes and individuals.

At Kvitfjell, we got to challenge ourselves in all these areas. Thanks to a great collaboration with Alpinco (Kvitfjell) and Bendik Øye and the Jibben Lever crew, we were able to put our vision into practice. A hybrid event where creativity overflowed – both physically and digitally.

Chall is not just an effective platform for creating user-driven competitions – it's a space for expression, for social and personal development. A tool to show who you are.

This was just the beginning. And based on the feedback – we’re doing this again.

Huge thanks to the crew

This would never have happened without our incredible partners:

Christian Nummedal, Jeppe Solberg, Johan Berg, Marthe M. Eriksen, Espen Rønningen, Eirik Juritzen, Jonas Bjørnerud, Knut F., Thomas Trads, Monster Energy, Head, Helly Hansen, and of course Mike McKernan, who built a park we’ll never forget.

And most importantly – the riders. Everyone who showed up, contributed, filmed, cheered, and gave their all. We see you – and we can’t wait for the next one.
